Contemporary Art Norwich is a biennial celebration of international contemporary
visual art in venues and city centre sites across Norwich supported by a year
round programme of exhibitions, commissions, artist support initiatives and
education and audience development activity.
Contemporary Art Norwich is an umbrella organisation that brings together a
wide range of arts organisations, reinforcing the city’s reputation as a place
that celebrates world-class talent and creativity and welcomes visual artists
from the UK and around the world.
Norwich University College of the Arts is a dynamic creative community in
the centre of Norwich. It is an independent HE institution within the University
sector. By Order of the Privy Council, in November 2007 they were granted
the powers to award their own degrees up to Masters level.
It is a place of
ideas and innovation where students are encouraged to question assumptions
and challenge existing boundaries of practice. Students who graduate from the
courses have had every opportunity to become confident and independent practitioners
in their field of the visual arts and design.
Norfolk & Norwich Festival is the international arts festival for the
East of England and is one of the most significant festivals in the UK with
a reputation for innovative and inspirational programming.
Under the leadership
of Artistic Director Jonathan Holloway the programme has expanded from its
original music base to include large scale events, outdoor and site specific
performances, circus, physical/visual theatre and is establishing the Festival
as an international commissioning force.
