One of the major off site projects was Rory Macbeth’s transformation of a building with the text of Thomas More’s Utopia. In Greek Utopia means No Place, not paradise. This Utopia project involves the artist writing the entire text of Sir Thomas More’s Utopia on the outside of a free-standing building, ready for demolition. Sarah Cannell of Target Follow helped us to find a de-commissioned electrical sub station in the old telephone exchange in Duke Street, which runs parallel to St Georges Street.
