David Tremlett studied at Falmouth College of Art, Birmingham School of
Art and the Royal College of Art. He travelled from the early 1970's in North
America and Australia and from 1978 to 1987 in the Middle East and Africa.
In 1992 he was shortlisted for the Turner Prize for
his many wall drawings displayed around the world, most notably at the Kestner-Gesellschaft
in Hanover.
Konrad Fischer opened a tiny exhibition space in a disused alley in the centre of Düsseldorf with a first exhibition by Carl Andre in October 1967, Minimal or Conceptual Art were hardly known in Europe. Many artists of that period such as Richard Long, Bruce Nauman, Sol LeWitt, On Kawara, Lawrence Weiner, Hanne Darboven and Robert Ryman had their first european solo exhibitions there.
